an.webp I found what looks like a small anvil in the waters of charlotte Harbor. Any idea what this would be used for??

Jeweler's anvil

I think Creskol is correct. I wish I had one back in the day when I did jewelry.

Much appreciated. It didn't have any markings on it so not sure how old it is. Will try to go out further in the water to see if I can find some more to go along with this. Fingers crossed. Pretty cool find though.

Cool find, I believe a jeweler would use one this size. :occasion14:

That is cool!! any maker marks ? it doesnt look rusty looks black like old silver,,, in high school we had a mold for making the little anvils usually cast them out of brass ....

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Thats a cool find I didnt think they were made that small.

I had an idea, but I noticed there was not a leg attached to it, so I'll go with the crowd that says Jeweler's anvil !

0713191128_HDR.webp anv.webp .. I didn't see any markings on it. I even tried to use paper in pencil to see if something I wasn't catching would come up. Sadly it just has the weird lines from being in the water. I'm thinking this was home made only because a maker usually imprints there mark into things really well. But I'm a novice at this stuff so admit I really don't know.
