Very odd Potsherd

Hey y’all I found this very odd potsherd this Christmas after a heavy rain. It’s an incredibly odd piece and does not match any of the pottery I normally find. It is completely devoid of glaze, yet color remains on it. Almost looks like some Arabic-like script, but that’s coincidental. Would be interested to hear y’alls thoughts. Thanks!

Hi John, your find looks to be either Native American or possibly naturally occurring sandstone to me?

I'm no expert on early Native pottery, so maybe consider re-posting your question here... North American Indian Artifacts

Well it does appear to be a piece of pottery, but the other possibility is a natural pattern of manganese oxide dendrites on a rock.
