OK hit my spot today real fast didnt have much time coin num 108 1916 wheat a brown bottle and this ring its stamped 18k inside but its not gold ? i dont think now i do recall reading an article that said during civil war times fake gold rings were sold still way cool and way old i am sure of that

Yes, it looks like a Colonial wedding bad. Often, people could not afford real gold wedding bands. So it was common back then to wear plated copper bands marked as gold. More valuable if it has a design or a name/provenance, engraved on the inside. Still a cool find and likely worth more than most costume jewelry.

Any GE or other stamps by the 18k? Still always fun to find rings!
 
It's most likely a modern fake. Really old jewelry was rarely marked with purity karat stamp.
 
Sorry Jason, but they were definately marking up copper plated (gold) rings with 18K in the late 19th C. Pretty common find actually.
