Theres a museum there that contains all the things found along with the boat. Amazing all the stuff that was preserved. They pulled this thing out of the muddy Mississippi River. I think it was around 1976 or so. Most of it has been put back together and a bunch of laminated beams hold it all together.
 

much appreciated, old wrecks are always cool and almost always loaded with artifacts.
 

I thought it came out of the Yazoo river. Wasn't it the first ship ever sunk by a torpedo, or maybe a mine, I forget.
 

When you stand on top of the battlefield in Vicksburg and look down upon the Yazoo, you can't help but get chills from what took place there.
