Victoria + Port Lavaca this weekend

I will be in Victoria this weekend and may have a chance to go to the beach at Port Lavaca. Can anyone point me to information about whether I need a permit for the beach, or who to contact? Thanks.

You will need a parking permit for Port Lavaca beach....2-3 bucks. You should do well there. There is another beach about 10-12 miles from there called Magnolia beach....no permit required and typically sees more people. Have fun.

And if the beaches don't yield much, try driving to Palacios & checking out their parks. There's a park or ballfield of some kind on almost every block...or so it seems! I can't understand how a town of 5000 can have so many.

We stayed there at a campground for a coupla days, but between the heat & the thunderstorms, I didn't get to try them.
