Victorian Age Silver

Someone had tossed out a bunch of old forks and knives last night so me being a scavenger picked them up and brought them home. I finally got around to looking through them today. They turned out to all be plated brass except for one which was really nice sterling silver. It is a 116 year old sterling butter knife made by Gorham. It has a lion's head on it and I just really like it. Weights exactly 30 grams.

The PAT. Date of 1898 is NOT the date it was made. You may want to research the monogram to see who it belonged to and maybe should get a date that way. You can find out when they made that design and sold them too, its really hard to get the exact date of pieces like this without a date letter. Still silver and a silver blade (That's a plus) old but not 116 years, so that's awesome !!
