OK, I dug a lot of holes in three hours and had two prove productive. Not much for all the effort, but I'd do it again. Probably the best weather day for awhile accompanied me on a hunt in a Baltimore City park. First good target was not a coin, but a gold-plated chain and pendant that is really only part of what was lost. I searched the immediate area for any other parts to this oddity but nothing else was found, though I had visions of a gold-plated watch.

Was not hopeful of finding a coin before having to leave but within the last 15 minutes I did get a coin and it turned out to be an 1896 Indian Head cent. There was also a button in the same hole.

This makes at least one Indian in each of my last three consecutive hunts, a mini-streak that will be a challenge to maintain. All of the Indians are dated before 1900.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the picks.

Nice finds McCdig.

Nice digs McCDig, that Indian came out pretty clean.

Congrats! Nice finds. IH is in decent condition!!!

Thanks White Wolf! A solid green Indian in the hole is usually an indication of a good level of preservation. HH!

Thx L-D! A hunt truly where I had to keep hoping and "diggin' it all"; well, most of the faint signals anyway.

Thx Tom! Appreciate you explaining that button pattern. Happy Hunting!

Thx Trezurehunter! You wonder how many Indians are left at this site. A number of them are coming from depths of 8 inches or more.

Thanks Professor! All this rain we're having does increase my chances. Maybe I'll get out on the weekend and shoot for four straight.

Thanks Dave! Appreciate the "big" Congrats!

Thx vpnavy! Was just in York this past Friday. A buddy was helping me put in a small patio. Happy hunting!

Hi Art!. Thank you. If my only coin of the day is an Indian, I'm really pleased with the hunt.

That's a sweet Indian.
Good luck with keeping the streak going.
Congrats on a nice hunt.

Thanks ATW! Will do. At the end of the hunt I switched my attention to the edge of the slate walkway where I'd detected numerous times before and that's where the Indian showed up.
