nice --very sweet the wife and I have been watching the "VIKINGS" SHOW since it started

Yeah I was out in the map room...
which is piled with crapola that is still being unpacked and such...
30+ years of MD and such stuff piled on top of each other... and found that gem...
black as heck...
Gave it a quick scrub and rub...
And walahh ...
Tis a cool piece I never even bothered to look up...
or if I did ... never found it...
today I did.
Tis off from the one online... and mine has no marks... tested... strong white no blue...
smells of metal but was badly corroded/tarnished.

just thought I would share it for something to do..
Nice piece and I fully understand...worth sharing...

Very cool pin, thanks for sharing.

I think it's possibly a Scandinavian piece or so it seems to me? The one piece on etsy is Mexican. Many Scandinavian silversmith high tailed it to Mexico when the Germans came along during WWII. This is why allot of Mexican silver has a Scandinavian design to them, plus it was a popular design during the 1930's & 40's. Very often silver jewelry is plated with rhodium to preserve the luster, so it could still be made of silver, but won't know until it's tested. I find it odd it's not marked in anyway.

BTW... I have been digging through old finds stuff...
some of them date back 35+ years of finds...
Some I have never found out a thing.
others I have clue about...
lets see what you guy think of some of them...
look for the new threads on "What is it" or Best finds...
gonna clean em up a bit first then post

Nice Brooch:thumbsup: but it's not based on a exact Viking dragon (long ship) design, long ship or dragon boats were double ended, and had a single sail.
