Ok so I dug this at an older Homesite (1920-50's) just an empty pasture now in CA. My first thought was maybe a vintage lipstick, although it's a bit small and looks different from other older Revlon I've dug. Possibly a design marking on bottom but it's bent over to much to make out, it's heavy and seems to be brass. Obviously it's smashed, but it be great to be able to ID it for my own sanity. Lol. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

Some make-up companies gave out sample lipstick in small tubes that could be a sampler tube.

Looks like an old valve stem cover.

I don't know where they came from, but my mom carried several small lipstick tubes in her bag.

Thanks everyone, that helps! After searching I think I've found images, and it does appear to be an old possibly Avon lipstick sample or mini version. Thanks!
