Detected for a couple hours in a Baltimore City park this afternoon. Was using the Etrac for the second time. I think I know what deep rusted iron rings in at now, but this signal was a mid-tone and turned out to be a brass disk. Couldn't make out the details out in the field, but a clean-up at home revealed a very old dog license.

Very cool,,
I should do a Dog Tag historical search.
Any idea of when they started requiring dog tags in Baltimore? ?

Nice license McCDig!

Great find McCdig. I like the old dog tags.

Probably worth over $300 bucks. Congratulations

Great looking dog tag. Hope you're able to find out if it's from the city or the county. Congrats.

Thx Jamie. It was dug at Druid, so it could have been Baltimore County.

Thx P@tch! That was my one keeper of the afternoon.

That is an awesome find, congratulations! :notworthy:

Thx Professor. I rarely dig old dog license tags.

Thanky Art! Old dude finds old tag.

Thx Trezurehunter! Surprised me that this old one was not deeper.

Thx vpnavy! Later Baltimore City license tags included the letters M. C. C. for mayor and city council.

Thx Mike! I haven't found much on-line to support a Baltimore City connection, however, the park from which it was dug was established by Baltimore before the date of this tag.

Thx ATW! Earliest I had found prior was from '01. There are examples of tags before 1900.
