Visiting Ajo Arizona for a 2 weeks

Hey guys I am new to the forums and new to detecting I was wondering if anyone has ever detected or been to Ajo or familiar with the area? Is it worth detecting of the old mines around town from the 1800's? I have been detecting a few times, I recently purchased my first detector. So far I found 1 little flake with my friends GMT! but that was in California, I hope to have a little fun while I am there I think its a small town.

Whole lot of nuthin' out there, not much of a vacation destination. Most of Arizona is a mineralized zone so with a little research on gold placers and dry washing in the area you should find something.
