A while back I found what appears to be an old trash burning site on my old farmstead. The Simplex goes crazy over it: a lot of aluminum foil, rusty cans, bottle caps, nails, etc.
Today I started raking the top to see what I could sort out. I picked up quite a lot of broken window glass and tin.
I did find the items below:
The end cap from a fuse, 2 head stamps and a Roosevelt dime. I thought silver, because no one has lived here since the early 1950’s.
It is a 1969 D. I’d guess whoever burned the pile of trash lost it, since it was right in the debris pile. I’ll keep raking. Who knows what else might be there? If nothing else the broken glass will be gone.
