We need help here from anyone that can. Our new beach mining rules that went into effect late last fall are being attacted. The State Parks is calling a meeting in Montesano WA at the city hall on Feb. 16th at 7pm to listen to more public input and representives of costal groups are saying that they anticipate there will be suggestions to amend the rules and they're trying to impose a $150 fee for the now free HPA permit. We need everyone who can to PLEASE come. If you can't come please email Lisa Lantz at Lisa.Lantz@Parks.WA.GOV with your support. She's an enviornmental planner for the parks dept and she has been very supportive to us in the past so be nice. Instead of more fees we would like to see beach mining put under the Gold and Fish rules we have for the rest of the state rules without a special permit. Thanks, Doug.
PS: Mention how it's good for tourism in our depressed local areas.

If anyone can come they've changed the meeting time to 6:30 and we're going to be there at 6:00. Thanks, Doug.

I want to thank everyone who was able to attend the meeting and also those that sent emails. We had a very good showing, some driving several hours to attend. I'm guessing that there were around 50 or 60 people there and very few that were against us. Thanks again, Doug.
