WA Ghost Town Detecting

Quick question- any tips on the regulation on detecting these based on land/locations? Say for example Lester in King County? A lot seem to fall on past BRR lines, is this open or considered private? Have you hunted any with much luck? They look like a fun place to hit, especially for beginners. Any info helps!

Also near Index, Wa is a old town called Alpine we could hit up as well. I think we'd have to hike in about five miles or so to get to it.
