I took a chance on a cool old relic cast iron Wagner Number 8 Waffle Maker. I have never seen one before but, new it was old as heck and complete. Checked some auctions for this item and they are asking $100.00 dollars. I dropped $20.00 for it so I should be good if I decide to clean it up and resell it. I think it's cool as heck so I may just hang on to it. Almost glad I got rained out of my field hunt which sent me off to Goodwill. Kurios1 004.webp005.webp006.webp

Would have been in a glass case with a $275 price tag at the goodwills here.

That is a nice one. My wife has been taking all my cast iron finds when I clean out houses. She knows the way to make them look good again, supposedly an old family secret, I don't ask. She has quite a collection. This is a real good one.......

Nice. I am a huge thrift store shopper, not for resale items but things I need for the house.

Yikes ! Sounds like they are criminals down your way. If you know your stuff you can still score an occasional treasure from the Goodwill stores up here. You have to get the jump on the folks that are waiting at the door for them to open every morning.

Cast iron is my favorite for stove top cooking. Heck probably all cooking. I have a nice Dutch oven I can throw in the oven or on my fire pit. Got a few of those little cast iron pie makers you stick in the coals. Love me a nice hot apple pie yanked from a fire pit. Adios.
