I re-visited the small creek that I found what seems to be and old flywheel maybe from a small engine like a pump jack. On the way down saw an old unused side trail and found this pick head. Looks to be hand forged.
Then climbed down into the creek. This creek is in the Redwoods where there was some logging done and it's off an old stage coach road. It is very hard to get around in it due to fallen trees, very steep bank, but I figured there might be something good so it's worth crawling on all fours haha.
Half way through the section of creek I get a slamming high tone on my Ace 350. Down about 8-10", under head sized rock and gravel I pull out my first Silver detecting and it is a 1919 Walker Half!!!
After I realized it I turned on my cell phone video.

WOW... your first silver and it's a half dollar. Big-O-Silver gets you a Big-O-Congrats.

Nice. I usually only find junk in nearby creeks

That's some big silver, and Walking Liberty is a beauty. Congrats!

Congratualtions on the first silver! :occasion14:

Congrats on the Walker Half. That is always a great coin to see come out from the depths of the dirt.

congrats on your first silver. Seems like the majority of halves posted are usually dated in the 40's. I like seeing those earlier ones show up.

That's a nice walk down the creek congrats

Yeah!, what he said!! Great find. Also, nice way to think outta the norm.
Thanks all! Living in the bay area of California is a little tough to detect. Lots of asphalt and pavement. Most parks have been gone through a million times, and almost everything is private property. I try to go to areas that are off the beaten path. Having to go through poison oak usually means I'll find some relics at least, and the little bit of scratching after is worth it haha

Nice silver find. Congrats

Don't Rub it!!
Ok rub it.
