Wanting to get into the hobby.

I am wanting to buy a starter metal detector so when I go surf fishing in Galveston, I can do a little of both. Basically I would like a detector that is saltwater friendly, water proof, looking for all metals, and with a budget of about 500 to 1000 usd. All help is appreciated.

Yes, This is the one with the built in rod.

I use a Tesoso Sand Shark (PI). About $600. A scoop about $150. Be warned....you won't have time to fish!
