Love the coin. Looks like a lot of nice finds. HH......

I like that ring. You're right about the nickels, Charlie P. When I first started out I never found a nickel, so I assumed nobody ever lost one. Then somebody told me I was discriminating them out. I have better luck finding them now with this DFX.

Nice finds!!! Congrats on the silver! dug my first war nickel the other day. keep it up and HH

Looks like a fairly productive day. Silver is always a sweet treat :icon_sunny:

Those nickels are sweet finds

Wow, looks like the F-75 is doing a good job for you. I'd go back and hit that site again.
Maybe slow down, and hit some of the iffy signals, you know the ones that hit on the
right side of the screen and 60's and 70's pop up, but don't hold. Try some of those
signals. I've dug some pretty nice silver doing just that with my F-75.

I've been thinking about sending in my F-75 and getting the upgrade. A couple times I've
had moisture on the screen and more than a couple of times the batteries have come loose. But all in all, I really like the F-75.

I rarely found a nickel until I got my ACE 250. It is a nickel hound. That is not putting down any other detectors, just an observation . Monty

The F-75 does great with nickels. I think one reason is that the two spots I most often hunt are both hit regularly by other detectorists and they seem to leave cents and nickels. :D I'm not proud and dig everything that sounds good. That silver ring read like a pre-'82 cent.

The War Nickel is an oddball coin it that it reads in the high "TAB" or steel-bottle-cap-before-it-rusts zone for detectors (55 on the 1 to 99 scale of the F75. On that scale a regular Jefferson comes in between 31 for new shiny to 27 for old, deep and oxidized/tarnished. The War Nickel, being 35% silver: 56% copper: 9% manganese, is unlike any other U.S. coin. That's one of the reasons why you don't see many being dug.

I guess I'm an optomist and assume the best for hits.
