I'm a nickel guy, mostly. Trying to fill 5 of the Whitman folders(one down--4 to go). I enjoy finding the war nickels. The best I've ever done is find 4 war nickels in one box. This has happened twice. I was just curious....how have others fared with the war nickels? --- what's the most you've ever found on one box? 7up

Hey 7up2000
4 in one box is a nice score. I don't CRH much (just in the winter when I can't get outside to metal detect). Most I have found was 3 in a box and that box had a 43' S ender which got my juices flowing when I saw it through the box's peep holes. I haven't had a skunk nickel box yet though (knocking on wood). I have at least received one per box so far. But, I also enjoy seeing how many foreign coins I end up getting per box. Got a 5 Euro not long ago which completely caught me by surprise. Opened the roll and saw a copper\bronze colored coin and didn't know what the heck it could be. I usually end up with a few Canadians and the occasionally 1 or 2 Bermuda Pineapples.

Best I've found was three in a box. Usually it's more like one though.

my best box had 44, yup, forty four. the '43-D has only been found 1 time in 380 boxes. total found in those boxes is about 450, most are P mints

I found 2 in a box several times, but never more. I averaged much less than 1 per box.

I have pulled two from a box a few times but never more. Got skunked once, twice of you count the solid box of 2015's I just picked up :BangHead:

Tanner and I started with nickels. We never bought boxes just rolls from tellers. The photos show our best scores.

Keep on Searching

My best was four war nickels and four buffalos in the same box. If I remember right I had a box with 2 war nickels, 2 buffalos, and one rough V nickel a while back, too. I probably average about 0.7 keepers per box, over the course of around 50 or 60 boxes.
