I found a standard issue 1808-1830 shoulder plate- 3-1/2 long x 2-1/2 wide, on a little know battle field from the "Siege of Prairie du Chien".

Our town was lost to the British government from July 20, 1814 til spring of 1815 when the Brit's gave it back to us in the treaty of Ghent. The British fort, Fort McKay, was on the ground I was given permission to hunt, as was our second attempt at Fort Crawford.
