Was this made by Hudson's Bay Company?

Found this at an antique store today attached was a price of 5$ and description of "Tag?". I first recognized the gorget design and recognized the emblem but don't know how to tell what it is. It doesn't have Repro or anything anywhere. It's solid on the back and heavy like lead. Any ideas?

It's marked right for Hudson Bay Co., but there are lots of reproduction stuff out there for the rein-actors market.
