I was in Pittsburgh for my in-laws 60th wedding anniversary and their next-door neighbor works at estate sales. I asked her if she had any coming up this weekend and she said yes and when I asked about watches she said yes there was a big box of watches. She contacted the person running the sale and she told us that they were going to be listed for five dollars apiece. I was number four in line and was the first one to hit the watches. I managed to get two1979 Timex's with a starburst dials in working condition. I also got a Gruen Percision bumper auto wind from the 40s also in working condition. A very nice Timex self wind from the 60s in good condition but running a little fast. I also got a very nice antique sterling silver ladies pocket watch with the Sacred Heart painted on the dial. This one does not run but it looks like it just needs a cleaning. The last watch from the sale was a ladies Vulcain. It runs just needs a new crown. I also got this cool 1970s original unused leather watch strap which I will pier up with a perfect 70s watch. I also managed to score two sterling silver necklaces for three dollars each. When I finally was able to search the rest of the house I found a box of pens and when I went through it I found this Colibri pen with a 10kt gold company service award on it. The best find was this 1915 Waltham travel clock in running condition. It appears to be some type of nickel metal and could use a little bit of cleaning but I've seen nothing like it on the Internet. Very cool keeper! I then went to another estate sale around the corner and they had a stack of new old stock Timex LCD watches from 1978. They were also five dollars each and I bought one of each style for my own personal collection. Not sure if the batteries rotted but I just thought they were cool. I also saw this 1980s quartz Whitnauer watch which I paid two dollars for it but unfortunately I tried putting in a new battery and it doesn't work . The last thing I found which I haven't found ever before was in the golf area. There were several bags of ball markers and I noticed that one was marked Sterling. I ended up with five Sterling ball markers and I paid a dollar for both bags. That was definitely a first for me.
