Watch Winder with Military symbols?

I was metal detecting today at a colonial homesite
And these 3 thing came out of the same hole

I was wondering if you know what these symbols represent on the watch winder

and if all 3 are part of same SET UP?

the watch winder has what appears to be a Rooster over 4 flags

and other side a liberty torch with a single arrow and quiver

The ring is like a key ring loop, it has decoration and gilding, at openings it appears like a serpent head,
the button is plain, with Laurel crest on back, probably a Tombac material

but I cant tell what it is

the Quiver and Flaming torch is a symbol of Louis XVI
the single arrow problem his down fall

the other side appears to be the Gallic Rooster a french symbol of the ancient Gauls andGallic Rooster) decorated French flags during the Revolution

the ring could be an ouroborus

I know the symbols were also used in America like the liberty cap, pole, c, etc,, Even though found at Colonial site but not sure here if anything is american revolution

very interesting info. I dug a watch winder with a similar design, and never knew what it stood for.
the area found also gave up civil war and war of 1812 relics.
nice finds btw.

the plot thickens, I have to find how when and where and why these were made

I think these keys are associated with pocket watches produced on 1793 to 1795 that had a Decimal Time,
10 hours or 1000 minutes,
each new hour into 100 minutes,
each new minute into 1000 seconds,
and each new second into 1000 tierces (Latin for “third”).

A variant of this Decimal time was officially introduced during the French Revolution.
Some Clocks and watches produced during this short 2 year period had Symbols of the revolution on castings and faces

Since this decimal system was in use for less than 18 months, relatively few decimal timepieces were ever produced, and many were lost or converted which is why they are so rare.





After the French Revolution, the French Revolutionary Calendar (or Republican Calendar) was officially adopted on October 24, 1793. The 24-hour day was divided into ten hours, each having 100 minutes, and each minute having 100 seconds. Like the Metric system, the new calendar was one of the many reforms undertaken by the National Convention. The traditional way of telling time was so deeply ingrained in the minds of the people that the new timekeeping system was impossible to enforce. It was quickly suspended on April 17, 1795.

The other side is just a floral design as far as I can tell.
i did notice a bird on the right side after u enlarged my first photo.
