Hi all, I tried this on the paintings forum, lots of views but no responses so it is probably nothing. Thought i would try it here as a last ditch effort.
I've pulled this watercolor (?) out of the closet. I'm thinking my uncle purchased it in Europe in the 40's when he was studying medicine in Austria. It is sort of gloomy, not very uplifting. Probably exposed to a lot of cigarette smoke in its day.
Can anyone identify the artist? I've never been able to even read the signature.
