Waterproof?

I'm buying a Bounty Hunter IV, it says that the coil and shaft are waterproof. I have owned things that were "waterproof" and when it got splashed it was fine, but when it was submerged it was broken forever. Is the Bounty Hunter IV splash proof or submersible?

Only the coil and shaft not the controls so be careful there. Also be careful of raising the coil above the controls as water can run down the shaft to the controls.

As Treasure Hunter says~ only the coil and shaft. Only way to be sure is to take it for a swim
