Same reason the rest of the manufacturers don't. Not everyone needs it, so why bear the cost for something you'll never need?
 

Judging by then including rain covers these machines apparently wouldn't even survive rain, or beach detecting which is really strange. But yeah, of course you are right.

They sell very durable, covers for them, on ebay. I have them on both of mine. No more tape over speaker slots, no more worrying about muddy gloves on the button. Easy clean up. Used them all year, I like them
