West Ashley chiming in.

Summerville Joe, I sent you an email about this club about three weeks ago; I'm guessing that it got picked up by your spam filter. I'm willing to help with whatever to get a club started.

You can contact me at elcid2000(AT)hotmail(DOT)com or PM me here.

We now have a name, Lowcountry Metal Detecting Club. We are in Summerville, SC and have 30 members and we would like to make it more. Anyone who would like information on the club can contact me at jrobertucci@sc.rr.com

Joe

I've been detecting for 44 years, but have never been involved with a club. I plan to retire in November, so it might be fun. A couple of questions:

1 - What are the aims of the club?
2 - Are there any other "graybeards" in the group?
3 - Do you have meetings?

I live in Mt. Pleasant.
Thanks,
Butch

Hello Joe,

I am currently in Summerville and have always been interested in archeology and hunting. Is your group still active? If so I will email you with some contact info and questions.

Thanks!

TJ

Still active?

I believe it is. I bumped into a gentleman yesterday in my neighborhood and we chatted for a few. I am not sure if it's the Lowcountry club or another Charleston Summerville club, but it meets tomorrow, Saturday Feb 8th at the Perkins restaurant on Old Trolley Rd in Summerville. I believe his name was Dennis. I may try and stop by myself!

Cool! Thanks for the info. I just sent Joe an email. It would be cool to find to diggers in the area.

Nope. Didn't hear anything. Perhaps its time some of us just start hanging out detecting with a club or not. =)

Did you hear back? I tried to find some info from a link that was posted on CL but didn't get anything. I would love to meet up with a few people in the local area to dig!

I never heard anything back, so I suppose it fell apart or they're not interested. I'm located on Johns Island if you wanna get together sometime.

That sounds good! Where do you go and what kinds of things are you looking for?

I just talked with someone from the club via email and they have a meeting coming up on June 06 if you were still interested. Anyways if you are still looking for people to hunt with I am open to meeting up with anyone. I don't have any spots in the local area as we have just moved here but I'm more than happy to go beach hunting or join anyone on any hunts they have planned.

Yeh man, welcome to the area. Would be great to meet up and hit some spots together, other than that where and when is the club meet specifically?

I just moved to John's Island three weeks ago from the Midwest and would like to meet up with a few like-minded treasure hunters. I've only been detecting for a few years and I don't really know anyone in the area so if anyone ever wants to meet up on Folly/IOP/Sullivan's or any other place that you know of, contact me. My name is Chris.
