"We Were Trying to Get Rid Of These" (1st Walker!)

Saturday I hit a few out of the way bank branches I haven't visited before in a not so good part of town. From behind 2" of bulletproof glass I got $41 in loose halves. My heart stopped when the teller dropped a double handful on the counter and began to count. A Walker and a 40% were right on top! I was half expecting her to grab it herself, but she counted it into the stack without a pause. "We were trying to get rid of these, they've been piling up in the drawers." she mentioned. I gave her my card and told her to tell the manager I'd be happy to stop in and buy any halves customers dropped off.

Couldn't wait until I got home to go through the bag. Final count was my best yet! First Walker ever and there ended up being TWO!

2 - Walkers 1936 & 1942
1 - 90% 1964
6 - 40% Kennedys

Ohhh weee, luck was on your side today, CONGRATULATIONS!!! My eyes would have semi-popped out of my head if I saw one of them on the counter as a teller was counting them. LOL

Congratulations on being in the right place at the right time. Sounds like perhaps you have a great potential new source from time to time. God I love them Walkers. That one on the left appears to have some pretty good detail as well.
