I'm a rookie also. I've only hunted for several months. I used to MD quite a lot until I had an unfortunate joke pulled on me at work and injured my back. So after 2 back surgerys this year I had to find something to do until I could start MDing again. Unfortunately I like hunting for Indian Relics as much as MDing. All I can tell you is to listen to people talk and find where other people are finding relics, get permission and start walking and looking. Good luck!
