Went to an elem school on Sat. Found and 'older' gas cap - chrome kind that screws on, costume jewelry earring and $1.90. However, in that clad, I found 2 1967 quarters in the same hole. Is 1967 still considered clad?

I also built my electrolysis machine over the weekend (with the help of my BIL) so I am ready to roll!
Good weekend overall. This was also the first winter weekend that I have used the MD and I survived!

Clad starts in 1965. Quarters, dimes, half and silver dollars, are really silver from 1964 and earlier.

You can tell if a coin is silver (no matter what country it's from), when you pull it out of the ground. Usually it's very bright and sometimes shiny, as silver
is extremely resistant to corrosion and mineral absorption.

Same thing with jewelry. Silver and even more so, GOLD, and platinum come out of the ground clean.

You're doing great! Two 65's in one hole would make me think I was in the right area for possible silver!

Hope that helps. HH
