Started on Saturday morning just at the crack of dawn before it got up ito the 90's, since it rained hard the previous evening ground was good and soft. Visited a old house site and I guess the bright shiney quarter I eyeballed on the sidewalk was a harbinger of things to come. Used my Little gold bug due to the trash factor. Found two wheats right off and this BEAUTIFUL Indian head cent 1898 great shape Liberty visible in head band grades it at fine. Next up was this GUTH's Company "good as gold" chocolate token/pendant. They were made with the hole to wear, dated between 1909 and 1915 my research reveals. Next up was this "carnival" ring" then a heart shaped token pendant. Last was a Brass key and either a brass lamp or flag top.
Sunday up again at dawn had my trusty eagle spectrum with fresh batterys & headed for a Civil war site I'd had some luck with before. Found a .44 pistol ball, a williams cleaner, big pewter coat button, burnside carbine casing, Jaw harp, and this big brass "buckle or sling" which Im trying to ID and have posted in the "what is it?" section.
