I went on 2 hunts this weekend, both were fruitful.

I went to a park in Seattle with a fellow T-Netter just to compare machines.

I found 3 rings within 6 feet of each other, right on the surface.

One is from an Israeli firm, a nice .925 ring found alongside the solid looking one with the stone.

They are on a carpenters pencil here.

I am sure the solid one is fake, no marks.

The gold one also has no marking and looks a little fake too.

Today I found another silver coin from my regular weekend spot, a nice 1917 S merc and a Murican flag charm.

This is my second flag this year, so I am officially a collector right?

Thanks and HH to all!

Congrats on the finds. The toning on that merc is awesome; has that just dug feel.

The field where this was dug is right next to Puget Sound, I can almost hit saltwater by throwing a rock.

All silver comes out with the dark corrosion.

It is difficult to remove, so I just make sure the coin is not a key date and scrub it with salt to show some details.

A little brutish, but at that point they are just for me to enjoy.

I hear ya. Why not give it a good clean if it's not a key date? It's hard to enjoy when you can hardly see any details. Originality is hard to value when it hinders the enjoyment of the coin.

That is a nice group of silver rings! :occasion14:
