It's been a really slow start to the year for me due to the weather and lack of places to hunt. I had no silver heading into the last weekend of the month.
On Saturday I got permission to hunt a coworkers 1960 house. Not old, but it beats hitting a school for the 100th time. And last summer I had really good luck at another 1960s house so don't rule them out just because they aren't that old. He had planted grass last fall and there were a lot of spots where it hadn't matured so I mostly just stayed in the natural/mulched areas. I finally got a decent signal and I spotted the silver rim of a dime in the hole. I filled it back it and stood up to sweep again and got another signal. Turned out to be another Rosie. I didn't get pics of the 2nd dime in the hole. 2 Rosies counts as a spill, right?

Here is the pair. 63 and 64. Just barely squeaked in.

While detecting the side yard, his neighbor came over and asked me a few questions about detecting. Turns out many years ago she lost a ring at another house and thought it could be in the yard, but wasn't positive. She asked if detectors could be rented and I told her I didn't know of any local places that rented. I let her know I would be more than willing to come look for it no charge. She seemed hesitant to accept my offer but I did leave my # in case she changes her mind.
Sunday I went to a local school that was built in the 20's but I have never found a single old coin there. I'm sure it's been pounded hard for years. I decided to hit a little patch of grass that others might have passed over. This was beside a newer building on the grounds but its possible this little patch used to be part of the playground.

It didn't take long before I found this 42 Merc. Needless to say I hit that area hard but only found 1 other old coin, a wheatie.

I ventured out from that spot to an area I had covered before and found a 46 Rosie that had somehow been missed by me and many others.

The Merc looked to be in terrible shape but cleaned up pretty nice. Most of the wheaties are from my coworkers house I hunted Saturday.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting.
