I had a picnic at an old Girl Scout camp that just celebrated their 85th year of scouting. What do you know, I had my detector on me.
I thought how cool would it be to find some scouting relics. With not much more than an hour to hunt, I grabbed the scout director and said, "let's go find some relics".
Found the usual trash and 3 wheaties, 1922,27,and 46.
Mechanical pencil, 20 ga Headstamp, a knob that has "air" printed on it. Maybe from
An old automobile?
The scout relics were a GS pin and a scout knife.
Can anyone guess the ages of these scout relics?

This is the pin. Good gold color huh?

I told the director when the season is over, I will bring an extra detector and we would hit this hard.
He agreed and my heart is still racing in anticipation.

More to come later.

Thanks

Nice finds, bet there are plenty more to be found! :occasion14:

I'm working on a permission to hunt a Boy Scout Campground that I camped at when I was a scout.
That was in the early 60's. There was a practice back then to bury what you couldn't burn. I have a feeling that it was a common practice.
Today we all practice a carry in / carry out procedure.
You had a really good hunt and congrats on getting permission for future hunts.

Don't be surprised if you dig a compass or 2. Good luck after the season.
