Looks like part of a leaf spring. Probably to an old wagon. They also use them on cars and trucks. when the break the will break off evenly like yours is.

Going by the size, I would say end of leaf spring from a buggy seat. Tony

These items you are posting do look like spring ends.
They look like they have been cut off on an anvil
hardie by a blacksmith.
Spring steel makes very good knife blades.
I suspect thats these springs were forged into knife
blades.
