This rang up a 94 strange sounding, not a continuous high tone,I thought it may have been a bigger bottle cap,man am I glad I plugged it,a 1943 Walker.

Marginal targets, especially in highly worked areas, is the way to go.

Way to work it and grats on a sweet keeper.

Sweet looking half dollar.

Have you ever wondered why so many of the walkers found on Tnet are dated ‘42-‘45? Production of walkers averaged around 2,000,000-9,000,000
up until the start of WW2. Production then jumped! These are just numbers from the Philly mint.
‘42…47,000,000
‘43…53,000,000
‘44…28,000,000
‘45…31,000,000

A lesson for everyone, Metal Detectors are MACHINES and as such are NOT perfect when giving you a target ID..
After 30 years... LESSON LEARNED !!

Now that's was well worth the digging.
Congratulations on the great looking half.

Machines only give us information, its up to us to interpret that information... what we do with it is up to us.. :dontknow: :occasion14:
