Went back to the Park

I went back to the local park tonight and came home with a few keepers. It's not much but I did find my first BUFFALO Nickle, it's a 1935 and in pretty good shape. Also found 3 pennies, a '66 dime, 2 tennis balls, a whatsit piece of metal and a railroad spike (I think ?). There used to be a railroad tracks next to the park but have been long gone since the 70's.

nice buff --real plus to read the date so well---high wear spot on them so that one didn't get around too much---- most likely been waiting years for you to find it, ---P.S. ever find a photo of your dads grandma---might be the "person" your looking for in the "photo"--or vice versa Ivan

Great buffalo head nickel find Teddy..have to agree any time you can read the date..it is a keeper.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I almost didnt dig that target, I was on my back to the car and kept getting hits that turned out to be foil paper or pull tabs. I figured this was gonna be another garbage target. I decided what the heck, one more target and started digging. I dug about 4 inches, almost gave up cause I couldnt locate the target and started pushing the dirt back in the hole when the first handful of dirt had this laying right on top. I grab that baby and dropped it in my bag and headed for home with a big smile

I don't think I need to say it...but nice buffalo. My first and only buffalo was dateless However I should say this. Always dig those nickel/Foil/Iron Hits.

ROFL it was a really weak signal! I almost missed it
I couldn't resist picking them up. I figured if the kids that left them there were to lazy to go around the fence to get them, then I would My daughter say's the tennis balls beat the heavy metal thingy (rail road spike) any day hahaa

Im learning to dig all the hits, usually the foil and pull tabs are found pretty quickly so I don't digging them. With this Buffalo, I just rinsed it off under the faucet. No soap or brushing it at all. I thought about using the tooth brush on it for all of 2 seconds, but I kinda like it the way it is.
