I've been hunting this baseball field with my standard 8 inch coil my first 7 or 8 trips and have found silver at 5 ,6 , and 7 inches. Today I decided to change to a larger 10 inch coil. I know I can punch down another 2 or 3 inches with the bigger coil, so I gave it a try. The big coil did not disappoint. My first good target 30 minuted into the hunt was a pulltab/nickel reading at 6 inches, to my surprise with my wife watching I dig out
a 14K diamond ring with 3 dark blue stones! The good targets just kept coming, a silver quarter, 3 mercury dimes, 1 rosie, and 5 wheaties would make a great hunt today! Every time I dug a good target I had my
wife come by an take a picture! Silver coins today were between 6 and 9 inches in depth ...The only bad thing about the big coil is that it's so darn heavy...

Now that's a very good day out in the baseball field. Congrats on the gold and silver!
Liking the saying on your back-so true-so true.

LOL that’s what I was thinking!

It is a very nice ring. Congratulations on all your finds, Cool Hand Fluke. Your pics and explanation about the difference in coils are great! Thank you for that.

If you're going to make finds like that the extra weight is worth it- Congrats!

Looks like you had an awesome hunt, congrats!:headbang: 34 silvers from one field? I need to find me one of those!

Baseball fields are a staple for me. Found a diamond ring in center field last week. The month before another big silver one about 100 feet away.

That is a solid day sir!!!!! I wish I could find silver ): great job!!!!

Those out of the way older elementary schools that have not seen many detectors are still out there. Most are in small towns and are easily found on google maps. If you find one built before 1950 you'll probably have some good luck.

Grats on a great outing.. way to make that dirt new again with the bigger coil. Thanks for sharing and GOOD LUCK ALL
