Western Colorado

I have recently relocated to the Western Colorado area (Rifle). Does anyone know of any stories of lost/buried treasure that might be worth pursuing in this area? I am a novice ..but have great research abilities.

There are so many treasure stories in Colorado-you are going to have to decide where your interest are strongest.
For example there are:
Lost Placer Gold deposits
Lost Mines
Outlaw Loot
Spanish Treasure
Frenchman's treasure
U.S. military
........and so on......

Then you can start--as other wise there is simply too much material and stories

For example I specialize in tracking the Spanish trails and looking for Spanish caches
