this is a large(35lbs) launch pully with wooden wheels,that i was told was used to launch the individual dorys from the main ship.Its stamped on the hook"raymond releasing hook #1 1881". Its a ingenius concept.the weight of the hanging boat kept the hook engaged until the boat floated taking the weight off the hook an it wood fall open..Do you good folks think its worth keepin?is it valuable?

Defiantly keep it !!!!!! You are in a coastal market so it should be an easy sell. I would estimate the value is @ $50-$75. Could be more it there is any way to find out about what ship it came from. Do some research and let us know what you find out. Great piece !!!!!
