My metal detecting club had the honor today of hunting on the Brandywine Battlefield in Penna. The club president was contacted by an archeologist to assist her in clearing Revolutionary War relics from a piece of land that a new cell tower was being put in on. We had about 15 members show up to assist in the dig. There were several targets recovered along with a fair share of modern junk.

The Archeologists was great to work with and she seemed equally happy with the assistance we supplied to her! I am waiting for pics of the finds that were taking on another camera. I have some general Pictures of the group and the lay of the land.

We hunted the path to the left of the road back to the high powered line tower you see. It was an awesome feeling standing on the ground were General Washington stood. It was told that he was in the area we were searching overseeing General Armstrong's line of defense to cover retreating forces.

Hope you enjoy the pics and story!!

Was a great day. I managed to weed wack a yellow jacket nest and got stung 8-9 times. Man my foot swelled up like a baseball that night! Didn't find to many things but at least we gave it a shot. One lady did dig the end of a musket ram rod. Here is a link to the day.
