What am I doing wrong?

New to the site so trying to figure things out. My question is, when I click on a picture that is in a post then try to close it using the back arrow, I don't go back to the post I was looking at. Instead I am sent back to the forum. Then I need to scroll through the posts to find the one I was on to continue reading the responses. If I click on the x in the top left corner it closes the site. Help.

Close the picture, the back arrow takes you out of thread.

Click on my picture, to close it look at the bottom right corner, click on "close".

Thanks for pointing that out. It's so small I couldn't find it with my bifocals on. Lol.
