Found these many years ago on a construction site in the Mohawk Valley near Schenectady, NY. Thought they could have something to do with roots rotting from clay before they turned to stone. The one on the left has the tiniest hole through it. Maybe Indian artifacts?

Huh, I have some kinda like those made of limestone I picked up in northern Florida when I was going to school there. I’ll see if I can find them to compare.

They look like the beginning stages of a stalagmight type formation where the water drips, from a high location, into the center & deposits calcium carbonate around the outer edges as it dries. At least the far right piece does. The remainder look as if the drips drilled them out.
