What caliber and what Era

Can anyone tell me what this is (I know it's a bullet) but what Cal. and era.

Found about 2 inches down on the side of a mountain in Colorado.

Mesure with a micrometer sould give you a rough caliber. .358/359ish around there is 9mm, .400ish is 40 cal, .444ish 44, .452 is 45cal. It is fairly modern.
 

I'll add .357 could also be .38 caliber pistol bullet. Your bullet is modern, and if it measures .357, that cartridge dates back as far as 1898 when the .38 special came on the scene, replacing the .38 colt long which was a black powder cartridge used by the army. your bullet dates after 1900 due to the knurling inside the groove, but I don't know exactly what the date on that feature is. The .38 was a police caliber for many years, especially through the 1920's and '30's.
