What could this be?

Not sure what this is. Size is about 2 inches long. Found on the banks of the Cape Fear River.

Not sure what this is. Size is about 2 inches long. Found on the banks of the Cape Fear River.

If it's stone it could be part of a drill used by Indians. Check to see if it has had flakes removed. If it's metal I have no idea.

I found it with a detector but it is soft like sandstone.
