What could this be?

I found this detecting an old 1800s Farmsite. I tried googling what I think it says but I found nothing. The back has some writing on it but I can't quite make it out yet because it hasn't been cleaned. It's about the size of a penny. Thanks for looking.

I agree. Any idea what the markings stand for? I know what lead bag seals are but I don't know much about them...
