What detector for a 9 year old just starting ?

CTX 3030 if she doesnt like it you can keep it for yourself:tongue3:

chub

I think the Bounty Hunters Tracker IV are a good choice. I got one for each of my grandsons and they both have found coins with them. First time out and one grandson finds a 1942 Merc and same day my other grandson pulled a buff.
Save with a hobby lobby coupon you can find on the internet.
Good luck!

I agree with the above BH Tracker. It's a good choice for a beginner, and not costing an arm and a leg. Had Tesoro not fell into it's financial woes, I would recommend the Compadre. It would still be a good choice IMHO if you can find one.

I recomment a low price detector at low cost. Check out KellyCo and give them a call since they are very helpful. To her, good hunting and good luck.

That's really cool. Maybe something from the Garrett ace series or Minelab go find? I havn't heard much about the go find series.

Tesoro used to make the Amigo. I gave one to my son when he was 8 or 9 and at 32, he still has it but only uses it to find his septic tank lids.

Perhaps the Garrett Ace 250?

She’s going to need something light weight, Nox!

I use a Fisher f2 and its light and simple. Cheap too, mine was $40 barely used with everything and coils. Look in the classifieds and online theres deals everywhere.

Gave the grandson a low end BH for Christmas, figuring it'd work for his 2.2 second attention span. If he shows a tad bit more interest maybe I'll upgrade him this Christmas.

Cracked me up! His mom was jazzed. We'd really like him to get outside instead of sitting inside so much. So what did they get him? A Nintendo handset thing & an armload of games - Derp......... Gotta love my family............ But only because I got to.........

Tesoro compadre. Only one knob, couldn't be easier and this detector will find stuff.

I'd reccomend one of the garrett ace series. I got the ace 150 when I was about 12 and found it easy to learn and use, as well as being very lightweight.

Garrett Ace 150 or 250. Good Luck!:occasion14:

I'd avoid the ML Go-Find series. I purchased one and it didn't work well....and it's dead. I'd recommend the Ace series machines.
