The wind has barely died down and my wife and I hit the beaches here in Northeast Florida thinking we were going to hit the MD'ers jackpot. We were both "skunked", nada, nothing! That is a first for us. The beaches seem like they have more sand not less. Believe me, I didn't find a bottle cap.

Not only that, we were coughing our heads off the minute we left the car. The air was as foul as the beach. Everyone sounded like they had smoker's cough. I have been around the water most of my life and this is the first time I have noticed this phenomenon.

So where is my bottle caps and am I going to die in my sleep tonight of some mysterious disease brought in with the wind?

You got to love this hobby!

Red tide! But it is decreasing I hear.

Thanks for the reply. I heard last night on the late night news that Flagler and Volusia Counties were on a Red Tide warning and that respiratory problems could be expected at the beach. That's a first for me. The symptoms were immediate so I will know better next time.

I also read another post as to why the sand was deposited rather than taken away.

Thanks
