Found this little copper container. I thought it was a lipstick but got it open and out popped Mary and baby?

Nothing I've ever seen before. I wonder if they originally came together like that or were put together later. Great find.

Very cool find. I have seen a few posted on other forum over the past few years. They were nice little keepsakes around WWII, but they were made earlier too.
 
You just never know what you're gonna' dig up. I'm just amazed at what's lying under the surface for anyone to find, but few of us actually take the time to find and dig up.

That's quite an unusual item and very cool imo.

Nice digs, looks like a match safe.
 
I found a tiny one, was told it is the Virgin Mary holding the Christ child that soldiers carried with them into battle during WW II. Maybe WWI also.
 
Interesting historical type of find there, just think of where all it might have gone and what situations it was carried through, priceless!

I think those are called a 'pocket shrine', and as others have stated, were popular with catholic soldiers during WW2
