What is it?

I found this at an old Baseball field. It looks like a Bullet but has a strange looking bottom. Anyone know what it is,or if a bullet what type and caliber. Thanks in advance.

Looks like some sort of a plug to me. Put it into the hole and turn to lock it in.
Just a guess.
